I used a "deal" from Angie's List to get the chimney swept in a home built in 1963.  The chimney did not draw at all so I knew that there might be things wrong other than blockage.  Charles did a full inspection and I agreed to add on the following services:

Smoke Test
Fire box repair (some of the mortar was missing)
Ash door clean out
New rain / bird cap
New ash pit cover (the existing one had been warped by high heat)

He was pleasant, professional and explained what each additional item would cost, why he thought they were needed and left the decision to do the work up to me.  No sales pressure at all.  

All in all, the chimney and firebox were brought up to current building codes.I would definitely use this company again for any services they offer.  His prices were very fair, he was punctual and clean.
